I suppose it was envitable that I write this as it has been on my mind a lot for the last few days.

The last week or so has been, not terrible, but upsetting.
I do and don’t want to cry about it.

This week has proven to me once again, that I haven’t got any ‘true’ friends around me.

They use me for whatever they need me for and then push me away if I do not feel well.
A couple of times this week, I have been shaking. Not from the cold, not from any tablets (I don’t take anything), but it’s either something wrong with me or I am identifying anxiety…

I feel flustered and shook to a point where there is a sense of panic in my voice when I speak to others. It’s not from stress but it is thinking about what it is happening around me.

This isn’t supposed to be a soppy post and I am not looking for any sympthany. I just want to know where I have gone wrong and what I can do to improve myself.

I just feel that I am stuck in a loop of having a good couple of friends and then ending up having none by the end of the month.

I lost a couple of friends this month due to actions that didn’t involve me, but I was warned against them. I tried to talk with them, but they didn’t want to know at all.

What am I suppose to do? I have no friends, no sign of any girlfriend and I feel that I am taking 2 steps back and then 1 step forward with everything that I have built up in the last couple of years since moving to Carlow.

But I don’t know, I honestly do not know anymore about what I am suppose to be doing.

If I say anything, I feel that I could be saying the wrong thing and then that will push me away from those friends.

I don’t want to lose anybody else….I am hanging on by a thread.

I look at my phone, waiting for a WhatsApp or a Facebook message, but it sits there in silence waiting for me to interact….

On the flip side, I can’t initiate conversation with people. It feels weird for me to call/text people and ask them how they are.

Taking a step back from online stuff

Over the last 9 years, I have been involving myself with a community that I have been trying to build but as of Summer 2017, I have decided to shut it down as it was getting to be too much of a chore to handle and it really wasn’t benefiting me.

Since then, I have been slowly winding down operations and I have decide to focus on myself. I covered in that in my post It’s all about me!

Since then, I have decided to look at stuff that want to do. More blogging (not just here but on and focus on doing what I enjoy…Play video games.

The last couple of years of working on Nologam/Enigma have seen me fade away from doing something that I created the community for in the first place…gaming.

So since I have stopped, I am playing more Final Fantasy XIV and I am looking to start doing streams every so often. Just so I can relax…It seems like a good time of year to do that..

I will still be around doing bits and pieces online and I will let you know if I have anything exciting coming up 🙂

First Day at the Gym later today! [UPDATE]

To say that I will be scared for my life would be an understatement.

For the first time in about 10 years, I am joining the local Gym to try and shed some pounds off me.

I blogged about this in my previous post here where I said that I am going to make some changes.

UPDATE: Went to the Gym and I sweat A LOT! Like so much I thought I was having a shower while exercising. Oh well. Back to it on Friday! 😀

Sendmail, please don’t break Postfix

As I look after most of the services that run on my server (Titan), I experiement around with new scripts, plugins and other bits and pieces.

But there can be times where it does more damage than good.

I wanted to install a CMS (Which I will not name), but it decided that it wanted to install SendMail, which is fine because it was part of this package.
What I didn’t realise that when it installs SendMail, it uninstalls Postfix.

I use postfix for all my entire email set up (Managing email addresses & logins).

So, me being me, I uninstalled sendmail sudo apt remove sendmail – All good! Sendmail is not on my system…but now I can’t establish an SMTP connection on my MS Outlook.

What gives?

I attempted to do sudo service postfix start and that wall showed up OK.
sudo service postfix status showed that it was started but I still couldn’t make an SMTP connection.

I ran netstat -tulpn to find out what ports were open. Sometimes you can find out what process is using that port, but in this instance, it showed.

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
tcp 0 0 * LISTEN -

Hmm, that looks ok…

So after a bit of digging around and trying to adjust postfix configs, I decided to stop postfix sudo service postfix stop and re-ran netstat -tulpn

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
tcp 0 0 * LISTEN -

O_O…What…But I STOPPED Postfix
How can it still be listening on 587 if there is no service???!?!?!

With a bit of headscratching, I ran netstat -tulpn | grep :587 and it returned:

Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State PID/Program name
tcp 0 0 * LISTEN 15463/sendmail

But…I uninstalled sendmail … How? Anyway, I couldn’t sudo service stop sendmail cause it was already gone, so I did the old kill -9 <pid> trick and that indeed killed it! Ran sudo service postfix start and we are back in action.

A valuable lesson learned today!

TL;DR – Sendmail doesn’t stop the service even if you uninstall, so you have to kill the process BEFORE uninstalling it.

Links of the Day (26/06/2017)

About 4 years ago, I started a small series on this blog known as "Links of the Week" where I take a handful of links that I found interesting and list it all on one page.

For the next week or so, I am going to attempt to do this daily.
The aim of this project is for me to read more which I have been doing a lot more of in the last few months:

WWE Roadblock: End of the Line PPV 2016 Predictions [UPDATED]

This train don’t stop…2 PPV in 2 weeks. It’s a RAW PPV this time round and it’s "Roadblock"

This is very different from last time we had Roadblock as it was a "mini-PPV" that was only on the WWE Network between Fastlane and Wrestlemania 32 earlier this year. Now this one is happening before the Royal Rumble PPV.

So let’s gooooooo!

(c) = Champion Bold = Winner

  • Big Cass vs. Rusev – PREDICTION: Rusev. Cass doesn’t need to win this match as it should be a revenge match for Ru Ru. Should be a quick match

Non-Title Matches

  • Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho – PREDICTION: Seth Rollins. It would be nice for Seth Rollins to be back on top and looking strong going into the Royal Rumble and thus Wrestlemania. Seth to win.

  • Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman – PREDICTION: Braun. Braun is a brute and how this match was even thought of in the first place is beyond me.

Title Matches

  • Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte Flair in a 30-Minute WWE Iron Man Match for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship – PREDICTION: Sasha to defend. This belt has been hot-potato’d between the two of them over the last few months and this should be the end of the fued between the two of them for now. Should be a good match.

  • Rich Swann (c) vs. TJ Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick for the WWE Crusierweight Championship – PREDICTION: Rich to retain. TJ and Brian are in a fued so they are going to be distracted by brawling against each other but I could see some tag team action if Brian decides to turn face, but who knows.

  • Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship – PREDICTION: Roman. If Roman does indeed win on Sunday, he will become a WWE Universal Champion AS WELL as WWE United States Champion. Hmm, where have I seen this before?? – As we have discovered in the last few weeks, Kevin wouldn’t be able to defend the belt on his own and needs outside interference in order to keep the belt, Chris Jericho will probably interfere and cause a DQ, but I hope that doesn’t happen.

A swerve to all of this at the end of the night, is that Chris Jericho will interfere, but also Seth Rollins (Remember, they fight earlier in the evening) and they will defend both Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns respectively. Perhaps a small Shield reunion?

As I typed that, I knew Sami Zayn wanted to go to Smackdown and Mick Foley was to do a deal…Perhaps, Smackdown can trade Dean Ambrose for Sami and thus re-unite The Shield on RAW. Not unlikely, but probably not going to happen.

Before I go, Smackdown LIVE is on tonight and James Ellsworth is going to be facing AJ Styles for the WWE Championship…I honestly think that he could do it…he might get the belt, would be nice though.

See you on Sunday on 😉

We Are Number One but every one is replaced with CRUNCH [Video]

I am not a video editor by any stretch of the imagination, but yesterday, I pulled out my Adobe Premiere Pro and started to work on a "We Are Number One" video.

But what is a "We Are Number One" video, Padraig?

We Are Number One (WANO) is a internet meme based of the song of the same name from the Icelandic Children’s show LazyTown in which Robbie Rotten (The antagonist) recruits clones of himself to be a villian.

YouTubers were already making edits to this song as they would have with other songs like this Cooking By the Book song feat. Lil John – Yup, that is a thing that exists.

Anyway, back to WANO. In September 2016, It was revealed that Stefan Karl (The actor who plays Robbie Rotten) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A GoFundMe page has been set up for people to donate to him. At the time of writing, he is sitting at $81,300 of $80K goal.

But this would be thanks to the countless edits of WANO from various YouTubers such as MrMrMangoHead being the most prolific one. Each video being different from the last and each one contributing to Stefan’s cause.

So I decided to make one.

WARNING: LOUD NOISES. Turn down your volume…especially at the start!

It was fun to do and I thought it turned out great. I don’t know if I will do another one, but if I did, it probably wouldn’t be for WANO, but we’ll see.
