• As of today, the Nintendo Switch has been Nintendo’s longest lasting console, with no new successor.
• Planet Coaster 2 is releasing this autumn for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S|X – Trailer
• As part of Amazon’s Prime Day even later this month, Prime Members will be able to get Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Chivalry 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider for free on July 16th for PC.
• Shift Up, the developers of Stellar Blade had their IPO today in South Korea with them being the biggest gaming IPO in 3 years. On the first day of trading, their stock went up nearly 50% raising $320 million USD.
• Riot Games has cancelled their Smash Bros-style fighter.
• Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is coming to Xbox Game Pass later this month.
• Arc System Works is working on a new 3D Double Dragon game.
• Pocketpair, Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Aniplex have created a joint venture “Palworld Entertainment Inc.” which is responsible for developing the Palworld brand including licensing and merchandising outside of video games.
• From July 10th (for new members) and September 12th (for existing members), Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (Which covers PC, Console & Cloud) tier will increase from €14.99 per month to €17.99 per month.
  • PC Game Pass will be increased from €9.99 per month to €11.99 per month.
  • A new tier for Xbox console players, ‘Xbox Game Pass Standard’ (priced at €12.99 per month) which will have more games compared to ‘Core’. ‘Core’ and ‘Standard’ subscription will no longer have Day 1 releases of certain titles. (This change does not affect PC Game Pass)
• Atlas Fallen is heading to Xbox Game Pass soon :tm:
• Elden Ring sales in the UK have rose nearly 500% in June with the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC being released.
• Cloud Chamber (Bioshock) has approx 30 job openings, hinting to a new entry in the Bioshock series.
• Piranha Bytes (Gothic, Elex) has been shut down by Embracer Group – 10,800 jobs in the gaming industry have been lost since January 2024.
• GAME in the UK are to end in-store pre-orders.

• Remedy Games (Alan Wake, Control, Quantum Break) have re-branded their social media profiles to ‘Poison Pill Entertainment’ to tease the upcoming Alan Wake 2 DLC.
• Sony will hold a PlayStation State of Play this Thursday at 11pm Ireland Time
• Activision have been granted default judgement in its course case against cheating provide EngineOwning. They owe Activision $14.45 Million in damages and $292,900 in legal fees. And the EngineOwning domain must be transferred to Activision.
• Sony have removed the interview with Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann with the following statement:

In re-reviewing our recent interview with Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, we have found several significant errors and inaccuracies that don’t represent his perspective and values (including topics such as animation, writing, technology, AI and future projects). We apologize to Neil for misrepresenting his words and for any negative impact this interview might have caused him and his team. In coordination with Naughty Dog and SIE, we have removed the internet.

• Valve have confirmed that once you die, your Steam account cannot be transferred to someone else.
• It Takes Two has been updated to remove EA’s launcher, to allow Steam Friends and the game can now be played on the Steam Deck.
• Sony in Korea have certified a PC adaptor for the PlayStation VR2. No information as to when the adapter is being released.
• Intercept (Kerbal Space Program 2) developer has revealed that the team will be laid off on June 28th.
• Star Citizen still doesn’t have a release date, but has raised over $700m with $3 million being raised from the free play period that was held last week.
• CD Projekt Red have announced that development of Cyberpunk 2077 is has wound down after 3 and a half years. At the end of February, 17 people were working on CP2077, as of April 30th, that number is 0. The bulk of the developers from CP2077 have moved onto developement of the new Witcher game titled Poloris
