  • New York City – Day 1 – “A Day of Flying”

Saturday morning we (Myself and my friend (who does not wish to be named)) arrived at Dublin Airport to fly to Steward International Airport (SWF) in the outskirts of the city!

As a person who has never travelled this long before, I didn’t know what was in store for me, but after doing a bit of prepping and planning, I was able to get through security, get through Pre-clearance and then get on board our Norwegian Airways Boeing 737-MAX 8 for SWF.

The original schedule said that the flight would take about 8 hours, but we were informed that due to there being no headwind, we would arrive about an hour and 5 mins early. All happy days!

On board, the seats were nice, but not exceptional (Think Ryanair seats but comfier) and there was a decent amount of legroom, obviously more would have been better, but this was nice all the same. The food on board was few and far in-between. From sandwiches to a ‘salad’ to a ‘fruit’ salad, there was nothing that could been bought that would have filled you for the flight.

There was a hot meal provided for everyone and of course for people that had special dietary requirements. My friend cannot eat gluten, so she had a special chicken dinner which brocolli and a bit of salad. Friend didn’t like the food as it felt a bit ‘off’. I on the other hand had a ‘beef dinner; which comprised of 2 small slices of roast beef, carrots, broccoli and some form of ‘mash’. A small pesto pasta salad and 2 small “Lily O’Briens” chocolates. I gave the “Salted caramel” on to Friend and she thought it was very nice. I had the “keylime pie” sweet and it brought me wayyy back to my childhood by reminding me of a “Loop the Loop” ice-cream!

Anyway, we were treated a complimentary glass of wine and then followed up by a complimentary cup of coffee. After the meal (Which was approx half way through the flight), we ordered more wine and by the time we got off the plane….we were a bit tipsy lol!

We landed into (what seemed to be) the smallest airport. No thrills, no frills. No customs check (As that was done at Dublin Airport) and as soon as we collected our bags, we left to get a bus journey from SWF to Times Square (41st street & 8th avenue).  We left SWF at approx 5:30pm to arrive in Times Square by about 7:30~~ ish.

When we arrived, both of us were absolutely tired and we just wanted to get to our AirBnB. So I requested an Uber. This was all ok until the driver asked us to meet us up the road. My iPhone’s GPS was freaking me out by putting me on all 4 sides of the street and I couldn’t make out what was going on. This was not planned and failed miserably. Cancelled the Uber. Oh well! We were passing the grand terminal  and we kept getting asked if we needed taxi’s and eventually we settled to get a taxi by a Indian man. We decided to get a taxi to our AirBnB. Trip took about 25 mins or so.

We arrived in our very beautiful AirBnB in New Jersey. We were tired but we were hungry, so we decided to head to the nearby Burger King. I got a small chicken sandwich and a small chip and Friend decided to get chicken nuggets and chips. We couldn’t finish it….we were full (Was this Weightwatchers telling us no?? 😛 ) At about half 8, we decided to return to our AirBnB to crash for the night!

Overall, today was good. The planning for the taxi to our AirBnB could have been planned better but since we are both new to NYC, we are bound to make mistakes on this trip.

Today, Sunday, we are planning to go to the MetLife stadium and watch the Atlanta Falcons take on the New York Jets in a NFL Football match!

  • 26

Yesterday I turned the grand old age of 26!

The last year has been a very busy one with me doing more of what love.

I attended my first gaming conference (ehhh…we can probably skip that), I also attended my first tech conference, and I attended my first WWE event.
I have also passed my drivers theory test and will be getting lessons very soon!
And I have been losing weight as well.

To celebrate me turning 26, I will also be taking a international trip to New York City next week! My first ‘proper’ holiday since 2008.

And it got me thinking, I am so fecking lucky that I can do this.
I am lucky that I am able to go away on a holiday with friends, learning how to drive a car, going to all these events DESPITE some negativity I had throughout the year.

    What about my online presence?

I have been blogging about wrestling now on a dedicated site away from my personal stuff because some people may not care for the wrestling content and that is fine.

My gaming community Nologam has been rebranded to Enigma. While it has been quiet since the rebrand, I am planning something big for 2018. More details on the blog later in the year.

As I now enter my 26th year, what I done last year was just the tip of the iceberg and I will do more going forward!

    BELIEVE. THAT!

  • Attending WordCamp Dublin 2017!

  • WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 PPV Predictions

Welcome to my predictions for Hell in a Cell PPV!

If you are new here, you maybe asking “What is ‘Hell in a Cell’ ?”
Hell in a Cell (HIAC) is a stipulation inside WWE (And other promotions) that 2 superstars are locked inside a massive steel cage that is 20ft high, and weighs 5 tonnes and generally the only way to win is by pinfall or submission.

There has been cases where superstars have escaped from the Cell to compete outside or even got to the top of the cell and jumped off of being thrown off the cell.

The most famous HIAC moment has to be The Undertaker vs Mankind at the 1998 King of the Ring PPV where Mankind (Mick Foley) was thrown off the cell and fell through an announcers table.

And then at last years Wrestlemania 32 PPV, Shane McMahon who is the SmackDown Live Commissioner and son of WWE chairman, Vince McMahon leaped off the top of the HIAC and went through an announcers table where The Undertaker had been lying on. Shane McMahon would go on to be defeated.

    Non-Title Matches

    • Shane McMahon vs Kevin Owens in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ Falls Count Anywhere match!
PREDICTION: Kevin Owens to win. Shane has lost both of his matches since he returned to WWE back in 2016 where his first match against The Undertaker at WM 32 was inside Hell of a Cell and now a year and a half later, he is back inside of this cell. The build up to this match has been fantasic and if can pull off a good match like he did with AJ Styles at Wrestlemania 33, then it could turn out to be a good match!
    • Bobby Roode vs Dolph Ziggler
PREDICTION: Bobby Roode Bobby hasn’t been in the spotlight that much since his debut on SmackDown Live and Dolph…well…Dolph appears to be killing himself as a character.
    • Randy Orton vs Rusev
PREDICTION: Randy Orton The 3rd match in this fued where we think Rusev is now face. He doesn’t suit to be a face. I must prefer him being the monster heel that he was when he was in the fued with John Cena back in 2015. Hopefully this match will last longer than 10 seconds.
    • Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin vs The Hype Bros (Kickoff match)
PREDICTION: Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin to win We OBVIOUSLY know what is going on here. This is the first PPV back for Shelton Benjamin against The Hype Bros who haven’t been doing that well in terms of being a team lately. The ATGMBR from WM33 seems to be a complete afterthought at this point.

    Title Matches

    • AJ Styles (C) vs Baron Corbin for the United States Championship
PREDICTION: AJ Styles to retain Baron is just not suited with a belt. He just isn’t. I can’t see him be a champion of anything. Even him with the MITB case was a bad idead. What a joke. AJ Styles should hold the belt until Wrestlemania 34.
    • The New Day (C) vs The Usos in a ‘Hell in a Cell’ match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
PREDICTION: The New Day to retain This should hopefully be the last match in this fued as it is getting to be a pain. Don’t get me wrong, it has been a good fued, but it has run it’s course and it is now time to put it to rest and let The New Day challenge someone new (Chad & Shelton) for the belts at Survivor Series.
    • Natalya (C) vs Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
PREDICTION: Charlotte Flair to win Natalya is a very good champion but I feel that this title reign is going to be very short because WWE wants to build up the amount of champioships that Charlotte has and and match that with her father Ric Flair. She would be the 2nd women to have held both the RAW and SmackDown Women’s Championship (Next to Alexa Bliss)
    • Jinder Mahal (C) vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship
PREDICTION: Shinsuke Nakamura to win I was a bit torn on this match. I really was. Jinder has slowly grown on me in the last few weeks and he is a really good heel and to be honest, I would like to see him keep going as a champion to Royal Rumble. I like Shinsuke a lot and he deserves the belt as he is a fighting champiom (Not to say taht Jinder isn’t), but hopefully this opens up a oppertunity for a big storyline to happen with say Bobby Roode and Shinsuke going to WM34.

And that is my predictions, it looks to be a stacked PPV with some great matches (Especially the HIAC match) and I am looking forward to the WWE Championship match.

I will be tweeting my thoughts throughout the PPV at https://twitter.com/PFNWrestling

  • Padraig.blog V1.2

    Josh Couch

Today, I am announcing the launch of Padraig.blog V1.2 – Back to WordPress edition!

In this massive update, I have decided to move back to WordPress from Ghost. Reasons as to why I have moved back to WordPress can be found here

I am hoping to be blogging a bit more in the coming days as I am getting into my new routine with the exercising and diet. It has been crazy!!

Older posts (2016 and older) do not have any feature images as they were lost in the transition back from Ghost to WP. If I am really bored one day, I might sort that out.

But this is where we are for now. Disqus is up and running again and I will be making tweaks to this site where possible for AMP/SEO and more! 🙂

Follow me on Twitter for all the going on through out the day @PadraigFahy
