So I bought a Tablet yesterday

I writing this on the tablet through the WordPress App

Last week, there was a ad on  TV for the HP Slate 7. It was £140 I think, so I looked on Pc World’s website for the euro price. It was €160.

After a while, I decided to check out the Xtra vision and Carphone Warehouse site where they were selling the Google Nexus 7. While it did seem good for the price (and yes, I was intending to get it), Neither Carphone nor Xtra Vision had it in stock.

So I looked around Xtra Vision and this tablet was not listed on the website, but it looked great. So I got to look at the specs on the back of the box and I immediately went with it.

The Asus MeMO Pad 16GB. It’s a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor, with 1GB of DDR3 RAM. A beautiful 7″ tablet that suited my needs. It’s hefty in terms of it’s weight, but it is really nice in the hand with the grippy back on it.

There is a couple of downsides to this. There is no rear facing camera, but there is a 1 Megapixel front facing which should be used for video calls and selfises (yes, I did just use that word) and there is a occasional bit of system lag, but that is because of too many apps being open to one time.

Overall, as a first time Android tablet user, it is really nice and when I went back to use the Samsung galaxy S2, it feels like a very small device compared to the Memo pad.

Android 4.1.1 comes on this, so it’s like the mobile version.

I picked this up for €170 in Xtra Vision 😀

Edit: here is a pic taken with the camera
