    Spotify Playlists Update

It is that time of year once more where I let you all know that my 2023 Spotify playlist has been completed.

I discovered a good few artists this year, and I have gone back to listen to them more often than not.

New albums from BABYMETAL, Q-Rabbit, HANABIE, Superflat and Sparkly Night.

Some classics mixed in there too.

    Enjoy!

And you can listen back to all the playlists that I have made since 2017 here:

  • [The JukeBox] #93 – Alter Bridge – The Other Side

[The JukeBox] #93 – Alter Bridge – The Other Side

Initially, I wasn’t sure if I was going to post about this or Metalingus since they are both good songs, but I have been enjoying ‘The Other Side’ a lot more recently.

The Other Side is a 2016 hit from American band, Alter Bridge. Most wrestling fans would be familiar with Alter Bridge as Metalingus became a household hit with Edge’s entrance in WWE.

In 2022, Edge turned heel (An evil/bad person) and debuted a new theme to go along with a new look and persona. That theme would be The Other Side.

With that, he formed a new stable in WWE called “The Judgement Day” initially adding Damien Priest, Rhea Ripley and Finn Bálor to the group. After only a couple of weeks, Edge was ejected from the group.

Edge went back to Metalingus after some time off and basically went back to the old persona. The Judgement Day continues to use The Other Side today as a stable theme. Each person within The Judgement Day (which now includes Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh) have their own individual theme.

    Lyrics

    [Verse 1]
Just step into the dark, it’s waiting
    Take your vow, it’s time
Time for you to meet your maker
    Playing God tonight

    [Pre-Chorus]
You’re insane, have you gone too far
Who’s to blame for what you are

    [Chorus]
If you believe yours is the only way
Then you’re a fool who lives to die
Well you deserve the hell you’re gonna pay
    On the other side
Once you reach the other side
Once you reach the other side

    [Verse 2]
    The trigger warm, anticipating
    The ritual’s begun
You think that heaven’s gates are waiting
    But only hell will come

    [Pre-Chorus]
You’re insane, have you gone too far
Who’s to blame for what you are

    [Chorus]
If you believe yours is the only way
Then you’re a fool who lives to die
Well you deserve the hell you’re gonna pay
    On the other side
    On the other side
Once you reach the other side

    [Bridge]
Fade to black, you’ll see in time
    You will only be denied

    Fools will only be denied
    There will be no paradise
    Fools will only be denied
There will be no paradise, yeah

    [Chorus]
If you believe yours is the only way
Then you’re a fool who lives to die
Well you deserve the hell you’re gonna pay
    On the other side
    On the other side
Once you reach the other side

    [Outro]
Once you reach the other side
    There will be no paradise
Once you reach the other side
There will be no paradise, yeah

  • WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 Results [SPOILERS]

WWE Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 Results [SPOILERS]

Last night’s War Games show was something else, including the return of Randy Orton and one more person (who I’ll mention at the end)

    • Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch & Shotzi defeated Damage Ctrl in the Women’s WarGames match.
    • Gunther defeated The Miz to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
    • Santos Esobar defeated Dragon Lee
    • Rhea Ripley defeated Zoey Starks to retain the Women’s World Championship.
    • Cody Rhodes, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso & Randy Orton defeated The Judgement Day & Drew McIntyre in the Men’s WarGames match.

And the return of CM Punk happened. A shock to many, but the return was not impactful to me as his return to AEW. It’s cool that it happened, don’t get me wrong, and I did pop whenever the music hit, but I am worried about him, his ego and how it’s going to affect the locker room.

Who knows why Drew stormed out? Is Seth working? Difficult to know, but I guess we’ll find out more on RAW on Monday.
