  • [The JukeBox] S4 E14 (#28) – Lisa Hannigan – What’ll I Do

I never knew who sang this song until today (Yes, I know I have been behind on this sort of thing 😛 )

    Previous JukeBox: S4 E13 – Origa – Historia Crux

    Lyrics:

What’ll I do without you around,
my words wont pun, my pennies won’t pound,
oh and my frisbee flies to the ground,
    what’ll I do without you.

What’ll I say without you to talk to,
no one to serve or volley the ball to,
you write the words but I miss the volume,
    what’ll I say without you.

Oh I don’t know what to do with myself
now that I’m here and you’re gone.

    What’ll I do when you’ve gone away,
my ball wont pin, my records won’t play
and all of my hours limp into days,
    what’ll I do without you.

    What’ll I do now that you’re gone,
my boat won’t row, my bus doesn’t come,
I have the fingers, you’ve got the thumb,
    what’ll I do without you.

Oh I don’t know what to do with myself
now that I’m here and you’re gone.

  • A Bit of Irish History

That’s 1994 if you can consider that History.

During the Eurovision in 1994, we were treated to a beauty!

  • Padraig Fahy – The IT Technician

Today, I attended a interview at a National School here in Monaghan to become a Intern IT Technician.

The interview went better than expected. I was nervous when I went in, but they quickly dissipated. We discussed about the infrastructure in the school, the computers, network, servers and what-have-you. It was amazing to hear that I could possibly be starting on the 7th January 2013. (when the students return to school).

After about 18 months of no work or education, I can safely say that I am ready to start working in the “real world” rather than spending time doing work experience for about 3 weeks without doing much (Seriously, I was making coffee one time even though I wasn’t allowed to do that, but oh well).

And hopefully, after the 6 months has passed, I hope that I will either A) continue to work for them or B) Move up in the ladder and secure a non-intern, permanent job that will see me coming off the dole and actually earning money the way it’s suppose to.

Things are looking up for me, and 2013 is shaping up to be a great start to my working life.

And I would like to say a big “Thank You” to my cousin (Is that what he is?1), David McFadden for informing me about this internship. I never thought about it at first, but after discussing it with him, I said “F*** it, I’ll apply anyway!”.
