Padraig.blog Update June 2022

It has been 7 months since the last update (see above) and 18 months since the last proper update.

So what is happening with the blog? There are some changes that are going to be made that will completely contradict what I wrote in my previous post.

The JukeBox and Wrestling Predictions will continue but, there will more random posts. E.g. Tech and Gaming, Music, Videos, something funny, something quirky. Really anything that interests me.

Generally, all new posts would be sent out via email as soon as they are published. But I may turn this into a weekly / monthly newsletter with a highlight of all the best bits for that week / month.

Of course, there will not be any charge for this newsletter (although an optional monthly/yearly ‘tip’ is available)

There will be a delay, but the posts would also be available on the Gemini Protocol gemini://padraig.blog if you happen to use that.

UPDATE 29th June 2023

I am not going to lie, there have been 1 sign-up to this blog in the last year for the free tier, and I am honestly content with that.

While writing the new JukeBox, I decided that I would make everything available for free once more. And have the free sign-ups and paid subscriptions completely optional.

Gating posts behind sign-ups or paid subscriptions for a personal blog with low to no readership seemed like an odd choice to make.

I want to get better at writing. I want to write more and perhaps break out of the wrestling predictions and JukeBox posts into doing something more. Posts generally take me about 10 – 20 minutes depending on how much information I gather for them and then I make them live.

Now I want to sit down, write out a post and spend some time working on making good material that will attract readers to the blog.

Hey folks.

Just a quick Side Note here to let you all know that I am making my ‘Supporter’ and ‘Super Supporter’ membership tiers the lowest it has even been.

I recently moved back in with my parent after being away for several years and since I have been at home, I have been able to save a bit more money and because of that, I have decided to reduce the membership fees.

Supporter was €5 per month or €50 per year, now it’s €1 per month or €10 per year.

Super Supporter was €10 per month or €100 per year, now it’s just €2 per month or €20 per year.

Membership will of course remain free and there are no plans to change that.
Additionally, I have set up a Fediverse account for the blog, so you can get all new blog posts first within Mastodon, Pleroma, Misskey, etc.
